I picked up this item because I have a little fountain in my backyard but any time a decent rain happened, the circuit breaker was getting tripped. I installed the cover last week (very easy) and even though it's been raining almost non-stop ever since, the breaker hasn't tripped once. The electrical connection is all nice and watertight so this is a brilliant product and works as it should. Awesome!!

This is a great product if you need to use extension cords outside for any kind of extended use. I live in Indiana and have a heated water dish for my dog; this is the perfect solution to let me get the dish closer to the dog house since the cord won't reach the house. We've had hard rains (over an inch in just a couple hours) and snow (over three inches on the ground right now) already this fall and every time I've popped this open to check it's been bone dry inside. The color is nice; no chance this is going to blend in with the grass and someday get hit by a lawn mower. It's not totally clear from the pictures, but there is a slider inside that you can use to secure the two plugs so there's less chance of them pulling apart. A nice added feather I wasn't expecting. The seals at the ends seem to fit very tightly around both cords (both are 16/2 with ground) and the latching system is very secure, so short of being punctured or cut by something, I think this will do its job for years to come. I'm very happy with this purchase and will probably be ordering more for stringing Christmas lights.

My electric tools were always disconnecting from my extension cords unless I tied the connections in a knot! How simple this little item is but what a time and temper saver! The connections stay together, the little red "capsule" slides over and around things, unlike the knot. Also, I use one for a waterproof protector for my pond heater connection during the winter. I could find lots of uses for these handy little boxes!

I guess I didn't pay a lot of attention to the pictures of this item, because I was quite surprised by the size - it is much larger than I thought it would be. I had looked for something like this for about two weeks and was about to give up when I stumbled on this product. Although large, it does exactly what I was looking for and is easy to use.

I use these inside a large building so I can't say whether they hold up to weather or not. But the work well for what I use them for and that is holding the male and the female ends together. Nothing is more aggravating then having a cord come unplugged when you are trying to use it. This definitely helps with that.

We are avid bird feeders and keep our outdoor bird bath ice-free in the winter months with an electric metal doughnut-shaped heating device that rests at the bottom of the bird bath. In past years it was a chore to cover the plug connection between the electric extension cord and the heater cord with black plastic electrical tape in the Fall and then unwrap it in the Spring for storage. After purchasing this Stanley 39387 EZ Protect Outdoor Power Cord Protection Connector Box from Amazon.com the chore turned into a few easy seconds of placing the connected cord plugs inside the box and and closing it with a "Snap". Nothing could be easier or safer. We've experienced ice, snow and temperatures far below freezing but the box protects the cord connection perfectly. Thanks for producing a safe and simple solution to an annoying problem.

I bought this product for two purposes: 1. Secure electronic yard equipment power cords to extension cords - works well once you figure out how to use the included parts to wedge the male and female power connectors together inside the box; 2. Provide a "waterproof" housing to connect a heated bird bath power cord over winter. There are rubber grommets on both ends of the housing. I think they'll be adequate for the job as long as the housing isn't submerged.I'll probably buy another if I'm satisfied with this one. Instructions for the included spacers would have been nice but you should be able to figure out how to use them based on product images.

Like everyone else that decorates for special events and holidays, finding a good working cord accessory that provides the optimum in protection can be hard. Trust me there are plenty of posers out there in the market. Most are overpriced and offer absolutely no protection from the elements. I came across this Stanley EZ Power Cord Protector. After a couple of months use these are my thoughts. First off, in order to spot my cord connection points, I purchased the red bodied unit. Its also available in green. Measuring a little over 6", there's no way its going to get lost. Its pretty cut and dry on how this Stanley product operates. Just open the body, line up your extension cords at the insulated port entrances, use the easy slide to keep the connection in place, and snap shut. Even though this product is promoted for temporary use, I utilize it for illuminating a statue in the front yard. So far so good. Every couple of weeks I inspect the connections and seal. After all of the rain we've had recently, I was pleasantly surprised to find the inside of the casing completely dry. I'm sure in time and against the elements, the red exterior will fade. As long as it protects, that's not a biggie for me. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this Stanley product. Not only is it a cost effective tool, it actually works as advertised. Now that its passed my test, its a given that I'll be buying at least two more.

For thinner cords this seems like it would work well; however, for thick outdoor extension cords, it does not seal completely.

The garden is situated where the NE wind screams in from the sea with cold, plashing rain and freezing temps. This item keeps the bird bath warm because it waterproofs the electrical connection. The morrning doves and finches are happy.
